In our pursuit to create a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion, GM's global manufacturing engineering team is challenging the limits on what is possible and embracing agility as it reimagines how to build the next generation of vehicles. This key role will use agile management approaches to coordinate process engineering support for battery cell manufacturing launches. The successful candidate will interface closely with the ME leadership, ME execution team, facilities and plant launch teams to ensure flawless execution of our battery cell manufacturing programs. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to positively impact battery cell launch activities and influence manufacturing strategy for battery cell programs.
Job Responsibilities:
Track and coordinate process engineering support for the launch of battery cell manufacturing programs
Track and coordinate the application of the Global Launch Process (GLP) to deliver successful plant launches.
Equipment concept and design reviews
PFMEA development
Control plans
Safety risk assessments
Factory and site acceptance tests
Development of job element sheets and safe operating procedures
Production simulation and layout reviews
Work with Process Engineering Group Managers to coordinate process teams to support launch activities
Lead SCRUM activities / Agile Process to accomplish daily tasks and meet the project deliverables
Interface with ME leadership, execution, and facility teams to ensure manufacturing launch readiness
Lead ME participation in launch wall reviews and updates
Assist with the recruitment and training of new team members
Collaborate with the operations team on program deliverables
Minimum Requirements:
3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering environment
Experience with implementation of new manufacturing processes and technical concepts
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Experience with General Motors global manufacturing systems (GMS)
Previous experience with program launches
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and organizational agility to work across both internal groups and with external partners
Travel 10-15%, including some potential international travel
Preferred Qualifications:
Project management experience
Knowledge or previous experience with agile management strategies
