Summary
The Program Manager (PM) III for the LEAP (Learning & Active Perception) team is responsible for managing the execution of projects including staffing, cost, schedule, and technical progress. LEAP is part of AV's MacCready Works (MW) business unit and is focused on customer-funded research & development of computer vision, perception, autonomy, and related technologies. The PM oversees the complete program lifecycle from proposal preparation through contract negotiations, execution, and close-out, and manages all activities necessary to meet requirements, goals, and objectives. Acting as the central authority for one or more programs' execution, the PM provides a single point of contact for program activities to both internal and external customers.
Position Responsibilities
Manages one or more programs throughout their complete lifecycle
Works with the customer to gather requirements and define success criteria; ensures customer alignment and manages overall customer satisfaction
Establishes, communicates, and manages program priorities
Develops and maintains program plans including budget, estimate at completion (EAC), resource allocation, and communications
Coordinates with other PMs to align project teams and their inter- dependencies
Defines, implements, and manages program controls; identifies and manages risk
Aligns and informs stakeholders of program status and health
Leads program meetings and program reviews with the customer and technical team
Manages potential changes in program scope and advises leadership and customer of potential impacts
Actively supports growth of the program, including bidding and capturing new opportunities
Assists and/or coordinates the preparation of cost and technical proposals
Ensures adherence to Company policies and processes
Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field required, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Minimum 8 + years of experience in program management
Proven track record of running multiple, successful projects
Experience managing CPFF, T&M, and FFP technical development programs
Experience developing risk management & mitigation plans
Experience in a highly technical and dynamic environment
Must be a US Citizen, willing to work on government contracts, and have the ability to hold at minimum a DoD Secret security clearance
Must be able to interface effectively with internal teams as well as government and/or commercial customers
Knowledge of project management methods, tools, and processes
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project)
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
Experience with software engineering is preferred; experience unmanned systems is a plus
Experience managing US DoD programs is desired
PMI (or equivalent) certification is a plus
Basic familiarity with contracts, non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, and other legal and contractual documents
Basic familiarity with use and application of export/import licenses for the export/import of ITAR military products to foreign countries
Ability to work independently and interface with cross-functional disciplines
Strong communication skills able to articulate vision / mission to team

Physical Demands

May be required to travel (Up to 20%) mostly within the Continental U.S.
The salary range for this role is:
$134,400 - $201,600
