This role provides construction project management services for manufacturing plants (assembly, stamping, powertrain, casting, and paint), non- manufacturing sites and/or PDPM projects by overseeing all aspects of delivering completed projects. Responsibilities include the completion of all work including site/civil, buildings, and utilities infrastructure for assigned projects from funding approval through stakeholder occupancy. Responsibilities include the design and engineering oversight for assigned projects from early scope development through to execution and stakeholder occupancy. Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering, architecture or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 4-6 years in Engineering and/or project management
  • Additional Description

    Scope:

    · Initiate and organize project teams consisting of multi-discipline members from engineering, finance, purchasing, safety, contractors, and stakeholders.

    · Manage changing priorities and construction schedules. Possesses the ability to decide and act without having the total picture, can handle multiple and concurrent diverse projects with minimal direct supervision, and can coordinate activities with key stakeholders and other disciplines.

    · Employ rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult schedule and construction problems with effective solutions; probes all fruitful sources for answers; can see hidden problems; is excellent at honest analysis; looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answers.

    · Identify future issues related to construction schedules utilizing broad knowledge and perspective related to construction activities. Future oriented and can create and execute competitive and breakthrough concepts related to facility design and construction.

    · Supervises all department staff directly or indirectly in performance of project management, project delivery, reporting, payment, and project schedules.

    · Develops department-wide goals and objectives.

    · Oversees and manages implementation of capital projects and ensures adherence to cost and schedule.

    · Prepares and organizes project reports and facilitates discussions as required with business stakeholders.

    · Ensures that the Facility Projects group and GM Business Units are kept fully informed of emerging issues, events, and deliverables.

    · Reviews all departmental reports and presentations. Organizes all historical data for estimating costs and benchmarking studies on a global basis

    · Represents the organization and actively participates on industry professional boards: CII, CURT, LCI, etc.

    · Performs other related duties as assigned
