Description

As a Purchasing Manager for Engine, Transmission & Thermal, you will be responsible for purchase of productive materials/ tooling and Program Management.

Purchasing Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan
  • Lead business plan/tactics to reach overall targets on a day-to-day basis
  • Work with global teams in all Regions in developing commodity strategies and sourcing recommendations for specified commodity, considering regional specifics. This also includes early Supplier Engagement and Strategic Sourcing
  • Oversee, monitor and coach employees and build effective global team
  • Collaborate with Engineering, CCA and other internal partners to clarify prerequisites and to drive cost reduction
  • Optimize supplier footprint.
  • Analyze and apply appropriate tools, i.e. cost models, benchmarking, global competitive sourcing, value chain analysis, supplier negotiations, engineering change cost containment, technical cost reduction, part/system reuse, etc.
  • Handle supplier relationships and operational issues
  • Ability to work effectively cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships
  • Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc.)
  • Proven competence in negotiating skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • High level of analytical ability where problems can be very complex
  • Program Management Responsabilities

  • Drive strategies to achieve Engine & Transmissions Programs profitability targets on future vehicle programs.
  • Single voice from GPSC to lead the Engine & Transmissions strategy development throughout the entire Global Propulsion Development Process and Program Quality Readiness Reviews.
  • Program reviews on behalf of GPSC to drive a balanced business cases in support of vehicle profitability
  • Coordinate total enterprise strategy to include logistics, containerization and other supply chain costs between GPSC and Program Team
  • Support Supplier Launch Readiness Review
  • Work closely with the Launch Leader to ensure purchasing support for any supplier quality issues

    Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years relevant purchasing or supply chain experience
  • Comfortable working with multidisciplinary and cross-cultural teams
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Ability to work globally, independently, and self-directed
  • Ability to deal optimally with ambiguity and forward-thinking environment
  • English Level Fluent,
