Factory ZERO is our first, all-electric automotive assembly plant and the blueprint of General Motors' electric future! We have a corporate vision of “Zero crashes, Zero emissions, Zero congestion.” Our most novel products like the Hummer EV and our very first autonomous vehicle, Cruise Origin will be assembled right in this facility. This requires us to employ the most upbeat, capable, and innovative talent to ensure we meet the challenges of developing the new manufacturing processes required to assemble these outstanding products! Job Description:

The Quality Operations Leader will support RESS Leaders to continuously improve, define and approve all Global Ops requirements. The leader will also collaborate across all manufacturing subject areas to drive common and standardized manufacturing launch quality system requirements, procedures, metrics, and standard methodologies. Addressing Manufacturing requirements upfront in Global Product Development process and PQRRs and will support all launch improvement initiatives. This role will require the ability to coach, teach and audit elements of GM Quality Manual and GMS BIQ Principle and Elements.

Roles/Responsibilities:
  • Support RESS engineering in the Implementation of the Quality Requirements.
  • Monitor consistency to Global Metric Definitions and Performance.
  • Maintain documentation of Launch Manufacturing Quality Readiness Reviews.
  • Actively participate in Plant Quality Manager Meetings & Launch Quality Manager Meetings.
  • Lead projects as requested from Quality Manager.
  • Managerial Courage to provide direct, honest, constructive feedback to Plant Staffs / Executive Leadership in a subtle and professional manner.
  • Present the Assembly Plant and Engineering Staff with clear problem definition, technical mentorship on sophisticated problems, and regular updates on progress.
  • Support Launch of new products in the plant when applicable.
  • Manage quality represented employees to support production and meet Global Quality Requirement.
  • Additional Description Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in Automotive Manufacturing
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Preferred:
  • 3 or more years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing
  • Experience managing represented employees in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience within RESS or Battery/EV
