The Role:

Factory ZERO is our first, all-electric automotive assembly plant and the blueprint of General Motors' electric future! We have a corporate vision of “Zero crashes, Zero emissions, Zero congestion.” Our most novel products like the Hummer EV and our very first autonomous vehicle, Cruise Origin will be assembled right in this facility. This requires us to employ the most upbeat, capable, and innovative talent to ensure we meet the challenges of developing the new manufacturing processes required to assemble these outstanding products!

The Quality Launch coordinator will be assigned to Launch team and be a key support to the Launch Quality Manager. This requires close coordination with the shop leadership team and requires the individual to have a deep understanding of the build process throughout the shop as well the Global Quality System/BIQ. Individual must be capable of working with little direction, working well with all personnel on shop floor, and problem resolution. This is a people leader position, responsible for supervising core team members. Success in this role will have this individual working closely with plant quality leadership, Global Manufacturing Engineering, Program Engineering, and all department core team members.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage the Quality MasterDot status for the Plant
  • Develop standardized work for the Quality Verification Stations
  • Fulfill the Operations Readiness for all Quality Plant Functions
  • Develop and monitor Pre-CARE and Batch and Hold activities.
  • Manager Batch and Hold, communicate issues, and drive problem solving back into the departments.
  • Liaison to the Launch Quality Manager for the Launch Team issues
  • Utilize production knowledge to analyze major design, tooling and specification for SPQRC issues
  • Assist production with the integration of PQS documents into the development of the initial JES and SOS
  • Integral member of the problem resolution team in Quality, and department representative for resolution in production departments.
  • Executes the change management process for internal process control (tooling, material, etc.), coordinates issues and resolutions with Production and Supply Chain Departments
  • Works with the General Assembly Launch Manager to coordinate Quality support for all builds such as Torque Monitoring, Containment development, etc.
  • Provide Quality input to the GA layout development and operator station layout, utilizing established verification process, error proofing, and operator certification by start of manufacturing validation build
  • Additional Description

    Your Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience related to Quality systems and product launch
  • Production floor group leader experience within Automotive Manufacturing
  • What Will Give You a Competitive Edge:

  • Quality Engineer Degree or similar
  • RedX Certification
  • Vehicle Launch Experience
