Here at Volocopter, we are the pioneers of electric air taxis (electric
vertical takeoff and landing aircraft - eVTOLs). We have pledged to bring
urban air mobility to life by getting electric air taxis and other eVTOLs off
the ground in a way that complements existing transportation options in
megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable, on-demand air
taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. In 2011
we carried out the first-ever piloted flight of a fully electric multicopter
and have since conducted more than 1,500 public and private test flights
across the world (www. volocopter.com).
Your mission during this flight:
As Battery Management System Engineer, working on our various Aircraft
projects, you will be responsible for developing the battery electronics used
for the next generation urban air mobility solutions. You will design,
implement, and test software and hardware that will literally take off in
front of you. You will not just sit at your desk, but also work fully hands-on
with the actual aircraft in the hangar.
You will simulate, design, implement and test battery management systems
for our next generation of aircrafts
You will develop algorithm and optimize it for working together with other
systems e.g. flight control
You will develop safety related algorithms
You will debug and measure on prototype hardware
You will work closely together with the mechanical, aeromechanical and
flight control system engineering teams
You will challenge old designs, create new ones, from whiteboard drawing
to production
You will coordinate external suppliers and external/internal technical
resources
You will support in any test activities conducted by you and the team from
lab tests to aircraft flight testing
You will support the mechanical integration into the vehicle and work
hands-on
