Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be on-site on average 3 days per week
The Role:
You will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. Responsible for actively participating in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders. Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and a high level of independent judgment.
Primary responsibility is to develop and implement sourcing strategies on a global basis by working with cross functional stakeholders to meet sourcing and cost savings deliverables. Success in this position would be greatly enhanced with previous electrification experience in either battery cells, battery electronics or power electronics. Previous experience could be purchasing, supply chain or technical in nature if related to these areas. Work is of a difficult nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, negotiations, and a high level of independent judgment.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain or technically relevant discipline required
5+ years in purchasing, supply chain or related required
High level of capability to work independently
Highly proficient oral and written communication skills
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, ability to collaborate cross-functionally, and influence w/o authority.
Knowledge of computer software applications and management of complex contracts
Knowledge of corporate purchasing policies and procedures
Negotiation skills
Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints
Capable of interpreting contracts
Demonstrated global business skills
Initiative to use industry available tools to keep current with emerging technologies and trends
Demonstrated ability to develop strategies and negotiate effectively in an ambiguous environment.
Ability to work with stakeholders to solicit and/or validate requirements.
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Previous commodity purchasing experience and or supply chain experience
Experience in Electrification, business related or technical in nature
