Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) Global Demand Planning Senior Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Reports through the GM Global Aftersales Operations General Director and in a dotted line to the Director of Inventory Management and is responsible/accountable for:

  • Provides strategic direction within Parts Demand Planning, Forecasting and Fulfillment areas.

  • Develops the strategy (short, mid and long-term) and drive the execution to implement the COE for Forecasting Global Demand. Including reviews and follow-up that ensures plan is implemented as agreed.

  • Leads and promotes cultural change in CCA to have a demand-planning mindset

  • Oversee strategy for all part demand in NA such as CCA dealers, direct accounts, national accounts, and programs such as GM Defense, Cruise, Brightdrop, GM Premium Imports, etc.

  • Stay current on company-wide and industry standard methodologies and trends. Identify and implement technologies and processes to model market demand and translate them into actionable data for the supply chain, purchasing, sales, warehousing and finance teams.

  • Bring in innovation on demand improvements like Demand Sensing, Demand Smoothing and SKU level forecast variation.

  • As the Subject Matter Expert of Demand Planning in CCA, reports and discusses all Demand planning related issues with Senior Leadership across GM.

  • Responsible to take wide-reaching business decisions based on solid analysis of facts and data. Must be able to present and explain decisions to Senior Leadership. Make decisions (align demand strategies with Purchase, Supply, Warehouse, Product, Sales & Finance teams, layoff of employees, reaccommodate direct reporting departments, etc.).

  • Responsible to define key metrics and meet targets related to demand planning such as parts purchase accuracy, 1 percentual point improvement in accuracy could save up to $2.2M USD (inventory and expense related) based on GMNA benchmark & Mis dependent.

  • Leads an interdisciplinary team in charge of developing a new Global Demand Planning and Forecasting strategy to increase revenue generation, global inventory efficiency and customer experience by improving parts demand accuracy.

  • Collaborates closely with internal and external partners to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities set and accomplish according to GM's culture.

  • Competencies:

  • Strategic orientation – Make sense of complex data, CCA's has more than 1M part numbers / SKU's in inventory and the position will be managing multiple countries. The candidate will require to make understand complex concepts and transform them into simple and powerful strategies.

  • Market Knowledge – Know competitors, suppliers of demand planning services, modeling and systems.

  • Change leadership – Build a culture of change by transforming and aligning. CCA is creating a part demand planning culture. So, the new leader will need to transform and align the organization into the new direction and should be able to communicate a compelling case for change.

  • Collaboration and influencing - The demand planning organization leader requires high level of influencing and collaboration as she/he will work with all CCA, as well as other GM business units and groups as GM Defense, Brightdrop or Cruise.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree ( Preferred in Engineering, Data Science, or Business

  • 7- 10 years in Demand planning, Forecasting, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) (Required)

  • Significant experience in understand Supplier Planning parameters (Sales, Order input, Inventory Policies, and distribution layout)

  • Demonstrated ability developing key performance indicators and presenting to senior leadership

  • Must be willing to travel 10% Domestically
