This is a Hybrid position within our CCA Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite, but will also require onsite work based on business needs.
The Service Release Engineer - EV Drive Unit Propulsion is responsible to release service part information as it relates engineering design releases and changes.
This person will work closely with product engineering, manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, purchasing, and CCA business line teams.
Responsibilities:
Communicate and advocate Service interchangeability requirements in various engineering teams and forums
Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work optimally with business partners to meet mutual goals
Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative working partnerships and seeks out opportunities for collaborative experiences to help accomplish organizational goals while holding themselves accountable for demonstrating GM's core behaviors
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Automotive Technology, or equivalent experience
Knowledge and hands-on experience of vehicle systems and components is required
High level oral and written communication skills
Proven project management skills considering project goals, advanced planning, identifying key partners, and aligning the team to meet project deadlines.
Understand math/drawings/prints/specifications
Comfortable working with multi-functional teams and ability to adapt to change, deal with ambiguity, and a forward-thinking environment
Preferred Skills & Experiences:
Automotive service experience at the wholesale or retail level
Expertise in electric motor, power electronics, and HV systems design and manufacturing.
Solid understanding of automotive service practices and procedures.
Experience with ARC / GPDS / ERAPA / ERAPA-I / EDGE
Understand math/drawings/prints/specifications
Knowledge of safety laws and internal GM requirements
Understanding of GM service information development process
Excellent organization skills
