Summary

The Sr. Director, People Strategy & Operations is a Key Member of the P&C Leadership Team. In partnership with the VP, People & Culture, the Sr. Director, People Strategy & Operations will lead the implementation, scaling, and improving of the AV people strategy programs designed to support business goals. This is a hands-on leadership role; working with people at all levels and in all different functions in the organization, continuously improving employee engagement; embracing leadership/managerial and people development; empathetic Employee Relations; and improved retention across the business.

This role will build alliances across the organization in order to create awareness and prove, through data, the positive business impact in utilizing people strategies that support a high performance culture.

The Sr. Director, People Strategy & Operations ensures each business/function is supported by developing a strong team of Sr. P&C Managers, P&C Business Partners, and their team of Business Partners & Generalists; provide guidance, development, and functional P&C expertise to enable Business Partners and their teams.

The Sr. Director, People Strategy & Operations will develop and drive forward the Corporate People Strategy: humanizing impersonal HRIS Systems and Processes; continuously improving employee engagement; embracing leadership/managerial and people development; empathetic Employee Relations; and improved retention across the Business Segments.

Position Responsibilities

  • Works with the VP, People and Culture to develop Global People Strategies that align with the Business Strategies; executes strategies through P&C initiatives, measuring progress and identifying countermeasures to risks in achieving goals. Works cross-functionally to ensure that these strategies are understood and implemented, as appropriate and compliantly, within the business, GLOBALLY.
  • Creates and implements an exceptional Employee Journey by working with Business Partners, Functional P&C Leaders and Cross-Functional Teams as needed to ensure all people policies and processes focus on supporting and improving the employee experience across the entire lifecycle.
  • Directs and guides all P&C Compliance Requirements; is an active member of the Regulatory Compliance Team; manages the activities of P&C Team as it relates to Compliance Requirements.
  • Directs the consistent application of Global Corporate P&C Programs and Projects through the Business Partners, including, but not limited to: performance review, compensation, employee relations, performance management, separation; acts as Project Manager, overseeing the Business Partners' effectiveness and impact across the organization.
  • Leads the WORKDAY and other HR Capital Management System Integrations. Is part of the SteerCo. Assigns P&C Team Members to support the project as appropriate. Incorporates the (new) Employee engagement App into the Employee Communications Network.
  • Leads M&A activity for P&C related areas, including due diligence, compliance, integration, and talent retention; provides direction to Business Partners for the successful integration of new entities, ensuring the achievement of M&A one-year goals.
  • Oversees our IMPACT Community Involvement program by providing strategic direction in collaboration with the Generalist managing and executing the program.
  • Analyzing Metrics and prepare reporting monthly and quarterly in partnership with the HRIS team. Leads global strategic workforce planning in alignment with annual strategy planning or organization shifts in priorities; Works with Business Partners and Segment Leaders to drive execution of talent needs.
  • Works with the Business Partners to support the design and implementation of organization structures that support business operations; leads change management process.
  • Fosters a culture in which passion for excellence and continuous improvement is innate; creates a culture of ownership, striving for success, and proactively shares knowledge, and leads the development of others.
  • Provides matrix manager leadership of the P&C Senior Manager, Business Partners by creating Individual Development Plans, holding regular weekly team and 1-1 meetings, and regularly obtaining and providing feedback.
  • Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • A minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience

  • A minimum of 10+ years directly managing a team of senior P&C leaders; multi-function organizations, preferred

  • A minimum of 5+ years in a senior leadership position, leading a team of senior P&C business partners within a global organization

  • Significant proven experience as a people strategy leader with deep knowledge in Organizational Development, Change Management, and talent development

  • Demonstrated experience in developing talent processes that support a high-performance culture

  • Demonstrated experience supporting C-Suite leadership

  • Experienced in successfully planning large, complex programs

  • Successful experience in providing feedback and guidance to leaders

  • Experience developing and managing within a matrix environment

  • Experience working within a multi-national organization and leading a global P&C team

  • M&A, and integration experience

  • Demonstrated experience converting talent strategies to support business results

  • Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S. and globally

  • Thorough understanding of US Labor Law with the ability to research and apply changes to the organization

  • Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

  • SPHR Certification highly preferred

  • Exceptional EQ and Empathy

  • Prior experience scaling a P&C organization to support a high growth organization.

  • Prior Aerospace and Defense experience

  • Prior HRIS Implementation experience

  • Prior experience overseeing the entire Employee Lifecycle

  • Prior experience specializing in one or more Functional Areas of HR

  • The salary range for this role is:

    $209,088 - $313,632
