This role offers the following Work Appropriately strategy:
Hybrid: This position allows an employee to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays. This position requires an employee to be onsite 3 times per week ( Tues-Thurs) .

The Team:
GM's Motorsports IT team will analyze, define, and deliver the next generation of cutting-edge Motorsports IT software solutions. Leveraging both state of the art cloud based infrastructure and software development standards, these solutions will enable innovative interactions between GM Global Engineering, GM Motorsports, and our GM Race teams that accelerate our drivers to the finish line first!
Our combined GMIT team of analysts, architects, developers, data engineers, testers, and project managers will work closely with GM Motorsports Engineering and Race teams to ensure delivery of break-through technologies for NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA, and other motorsport series!
The Role:
For this developer role within General Motors, you are responsible for developing software applications using sound, repeatable, industry standard methodologies. You will work hands-on writing software or solutions, based on detailed requirements and system specifications. Additionally, your work with development activities will include:
Developing new and updating existing software solutions to address specific needs or solve a particular business problem.
Contributing to all development activities in accordance with appropriate methodologies and application of a repeatable, systematic and quantifiable approach to the development process.
Develop your skill further by working with other senior developers to ensure code alignment with design patterns / frameworks.
Developing customer friendly UI using React.js, as well as other tools and technologies.
Performance tuning, usability assessment/improvement
Aggressively engage in the identification / remediation of software issues related to code quality, security, usability, end user related issues, patterns, frameworks and software usability or
Integrating software with existing software/systems
Knowledge in unit and automated testing of software systems, focusing on software quality and maintainability
Engaging in the remediation of software issues related to code/solutions quality and/or security
Providing guidance and mentoring of fellow software developers and other team members
Technical writing regarding system design specifications and user documentation, ensuring that the technical documentation meets GM standards
Working in a team-based environment
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
7+ years of professional software development experience
Strong background in React.JS front end framework technologies
Strong background in building and designing UI frameworks
Self-starter and quick learner who understands and can adapt to existing software application and computing infrastructures
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Strong background in software/application development lifecycle
Strong background with programming in React.JS, CSS, SQL and Microservices.
Crafting self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components in front-end technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Cloud Containers
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or knowledge with some or all of the following tools would be a plus:
Delivering highly scalable, web-based systems, that can support high transaction volumes
Working with back end framework Java/Spring Boot
Previous IT experience within motorsports
