Description

Responsible for all levels of the production planning value stream from the ordering of purchased parts to the shipment of finished product. Including but not limited to the development of supplier schedules, manufacturing production plans, and customer ship schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops a weekly flow rate and ship plan to meet customer requirements
  • Communicates with and assists manufacturing to facilitate the completion of production requirements
  • Identifies optimal supermarket buffer sizes and monitors through inventory counts.
  • Reviews suppliers past due and coordinates recovery plans
  • Adjusts and maintains inventory ordering levels through use of SAP
  • Generates sales forecasts
  • Determines overtime requirements as needed
  • Updates scheduling agreements and sales orders in SAP
  • Assists the Material Control Lead in daily operations
  • Represents the department in various activities or committees as required
  • Oversees Material flow activities of Supplier, Manufacturing, and Customers
  • Administers internal control audits, inventory reconciliations and cycle counts
  • Develops standardized work
  • Supports Direct Material Organization
  • Represents the Material Department for New Product Launches
  • Understanding of GM Global Supply Chain IT Systems
  • Production Pull System (PPS)
  • Electronic Pull System (EPS)
  • Plan for Every Part (PFEP)
  • Flexnet
  • Replaces Material Control Lead as required
  • Ability to learn and apply learnings quickly
  • Additional Description

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Technology and 2+ year of relevant experience OR HS diploma or GED equivalent and 4+ years of experience
  • Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, macros, sophisticated formulas)
  • Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of SAP or MGO Material Systems
  • Prior manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain department operations
