Description
The Talent Services Specialist is a HR Operational role responsible for the
execution of various Talent services within Canada. These services may include
various work streams in the people services department however the roles
strong focus is in the area of mobility, immigration and HR Policy. The Talent
Services Specialist has a key responsibility to enhance employee experience on
various service offerings through standardization and driving the degree of
ease for users.
Key Responsibilities
To provide support to the unit-based stakeholders and act as a SME for
people processes related to mobility administration, immigration
administration, HR Policy and other talent administration activities.
Manage the E2E Canadian Domestic Relocation Program from policy design to
vendor management as well as operations.
Process all inbound immigration within the country to GM Canada and act as
the single point of contact for immigration administration in partnership
with our immigration law firm.
Upholds / ensure GM Canada remains compliant to all immigration policies /
legislation and supports implementing various immigration legislation
within GM Canada.
Execution of the company's vendor management philosophy and operational
processes. Interfaces with internal partners in purchasing and legal to
develop sound contracts, monitors vendor performance to ensure compliance
with all company policies and statutory requirements.
Establish the service standards and evaluate the performance of services
against the standards.
Drive and deliver greater employee experience for the mobility,
immigration processes and any other talent administration processes.
Explore opportunities to offshore activities to GBS PS service center to
support the Service Delivery model implementation.
Accountable for delivering accurate data and analysis and generate various
reports pertaining to assigned functional area.
Coordinate and deliver various statutory compliances / local governmental
requirements as per local needs.
Guide and support the HR team to effectively manage the local employee
queries pertaining to Mobility/Immigration, & HR Policy Administration.
Act as a connecting link between the People HR, Business HR, HR Centers of
Expertise and the People Services team to ensure the services stay
contemporary and need based.
Collaborate with the Regional/Global People services team to understand
the global initiatives and work closely with the unit Human Resources
stakeholders to implement the services.
Knowledge/Skills/Attributes
Ability in leading and sustaining a service culture that enables greater
employee experience.
Knowledge & experience of vendor management, SAP, local labor law and
requirements, HR policies and procedures, including immigration law.
Customer facing and total quality background preferred.
High Service Expertise (Process from end user view, Efficient
Administration).
Great ability to implement projects and solve problems with good
independent judgement.
Ability and skills to manage data that includes entry, storage,
organization and analysis of data.
Ability and skills to manage change by simplifying the complex and able to
influence others.
Skilled in using MS office to manage the various jobs and activities
efficiently.
Bachelor's Degree in business administration or equivalent.
More than 7 years of experience in handling HR/LR Operational activities.
Knowledge/experience with leading and administering an employee relocation
program or other benefit programs within an organization.
Bilingual in French Canadian would be an asset.
