Job Description

The Technical Lead – Enterprise Data Management promotes and implements Rockwell Automation's (RA) strategies, solutions and capabilities associated with product data management and establish an enterprise data governance framework.

You will lead and manage all organization-wide data governance activities and will have responsibility for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information asset

In this role you will

You will report to the Director of Commercial design and innovation.

  • Collaborate regularly with business, technical, and external partners on a broad array of product data initiatives.
  • Share responsibility with Product Owner(s) for building reusable and scalable components related to PDM.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for data architecture and data integration on topics related to PDM.
  • Design and deliver data governance initiatives and process related to compliance and controllership around PDM with an eye on continuous process improvement.
  • Resolve conflicts related to assigned workflows and programs.
  • Define and manage the structure of products with variants, taxonomy, and categories.
  • Manage the integration of PDM with other internal and external systems for improved processes and efficiencies.
  • Work with other data stewards across the enterprise to ensure a clear understanding of our requirements that are managed in collaboration with PDM data.
  • Roll out an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture.
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company's principal information assets.
  • Ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.
  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps.
  • Help develop and implement data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise.
  • Ability to distill information from disparate data sources and the capability to tell the story behind it, provide recommendations for next steps.
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements.
  • Provide progress reports to Board management and oversee periodic updates to the Department Data Governance Roadmap
  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience required.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • This position typically requires 8+ years of management experience. Focus on Product Lifecycle management would be nice.
  • Hands-on experience in Product Data Management (PDM), related functionalities and policies.
  • Data Governance knowledge.
  • Seen as an expert within the technical components of the domain of Product Data Management.
  • This position is part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor.
