Technical Solutions Manager (flexible locations)

In this role you will create and drive implementation of an offering
(product/solution/service) strategy to align and support the relevant
business strategy. You will also cooperate with Strategy and M&A team to
identify organic and inorganic growth opportunities and drive innovation with
a strong customer value focus. This role is open in all ABB Offices.
This position reports to
Global Senior VP - Offering and Strategy Director
Your responsibilities
Define solutions by applying current technology trends, gathering
requirements from clients, and proposing new features and/or solutions.
Oversee footprint, technology transfer and trading model strategy
definition to optimize time to market, sales enablement, customer service
levels and product profitability. Work with a variety of different
functions to ensure that PAEN is delivering what its customers want in a
way that's cost-effective and efficient.
Partner with various Product Management and Engineering teams to properly
define resource allocation based on the industry-specific roadmaps
generated as an output of the Energy Industries Strategy (short-term and
long-term). Ensure that each solution stack has the capability to execute
in a cost-effective and efficient approach.
Support Product Management organization by providing the necessary
infrastructure for the optimal execution of core tasks like business and
performances tracking, market intelligence, roadmap planning, life cycle
management, etc
Continuously analyze the content of the portfolio with a focus on new
potential product lines, monitor the offering portfolio to ensure that a
healthy mix and vitality are maintained and monitor the performance of
existing solutions to identify areas for improvement. Work with products
development teams to ensure that projects meet requirements and deadlines
Understanding and applying new technologies and recommending them for
implementation where appropriate.
Identify portfolio expansion opportunities in partnership with Product
Management that accelerate the Energy Transition journey. Drive innovation
with a strong customer orientation, exploring opportunities along the full
customer/user journey, taking into consideration all the touch points
Drive excellence in Technical Solutions Management team by promoting
continuous development of people and processes, and by championing ABB
core values and principles
Embrace, enact, promote, and propagate through the organization the ABB
core values, making them relevant for the specific organization (Business
Area, Division, Global Product Group) Guide, motivate, and develop direct
and indirect subordinates within HR policies
Initiate and drive staff development and job rotation programs for the
global product management community to develop competence and global
awareness Establish and maintain succession planning for key positions
within Product Management.
Your background
10+ years of experience in a similar role with minimum 5 years in
Technology Solutions and/or Product Management in global roles and at
least 5 years in a broad range of technology architectures and offerings,
with an emphasis on systems and product development preferably with
experience in industrial automation applications
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and commercial skills, with the
ability to work with business and technology stakeholders
Understanding of Process Automation business and associated technology
evolution, customer needs and energy transformation in a relevant Energy
industry
Proven personal leadership in building and leading teams, shaping
collaborative, diverse and inclusive organizational culture with high
strategic and results orientation
Global mind-set, inter-cultural sensitivity and excellent communication
skills
Fluency in English is essential (both written and spoken)
