LDT is looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Technical Support Torque Coordinator (General Assembly). This is a very important role and will hold several responsibilities. The Technical Support Torque Coordinator will be responsbile for monitoring processes and tooling required by Process Control Plans (PCP's) and Tool and Equipment Bulletins (T&E). The Technical Support Torque Coordinator will also make ongoing improvements and updates, based on audit results to complement PCPs and T&E bulletins. This role will rotate between 1st and 2nd shift.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Aid with breakdown management support through critical thinking and practical problem solving as a subject matter expert
Support Global Manufacturing System standards including Maintenance Level 4/5 Board, Business Plan Deployment, Workplace Organization
Develop a proactive safety culture by engaging team members and peers in our safety processes, reporting near misses as well as developing Safe Operating Procedures and Pre-Task Plans
Identify waste elimination opportunities in the areas of quality, scrap, uptime, energy etc.
Support NPP/MBC projects and strategic project planning
Evaluate equipment life cycle, order spare parts and schedule required equipment maintenance
Cover Maintenance Group leader as necessary
Strive to continuously improve tools/equipment Maintenance Cycle Between Failure/Maintenance Time to Respond (MCBF/MTTR) through the use of TIP (Throughput Improvement Plan)
Create daily end of shift log and email to team, in effort capture important info related to work done that day
Evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipment
Manages Torque Engineering projects including planning, installation, new, replacement, operations improvements, and User Acceptance Validation (UAT) Activities
Perform/act as Torque SME for entire site
Act as contract manager for on-site 3rd party torque support
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience such as is acquired through skilled trades journeyman status
Flexibility to rotate shifts and work weekends as a 5-6 day a week operation
Manufacturing experience- Knowledge of system engineering, software development & hardware integration
Lockout/Safety Practices
Experience/knowledge of GM-Global Manufacturing System (GMS)
Thorough understanding of planned and predictive maintenance and the Maximo system
Knowledge of Vehicle Systems standards and tooling design
Previous experience with the 6 pillars of quality
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering field
Diverse experience with manufacturing tooling and conveyance
Experience with plant floor monitoring systems such as WebTip, or Tableau
Project management leadership skills and ability
Statistical Process Control (SPC) skills
