Work Arrangement:

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.

  • This position requires an employee to be onsite up to 1 day per week in Warren when not traveling.

  • Up to 75% travel per year to Holland, MI initially and other assigned locations TBD.

  • The Role:

    CCA's Global Aftersales Engineering organization has responsibility for the service readiness of every GM vehicle globally. We are looking for an individual that has a customer centric mindset who can efficiently and effectively implement the launch of remanufactured Ultium batteries for North America. Responsibilities will include working with a cross functional team to move from strategy to scaled production, while resolving any execution, engineering, manufacturing, or supplier issues. This position is a critical role for GMs all electric future.

    What You'll Do:

    The Ultium Remanufacturing Launch Lead will be responsible for the successful launch of GM's remanufacturing strategy through a selected 3rd party supplier. Responsibilities include:

  • On-Site presence and support at the 3rd party remanufacturing facility during the construction, launch, and run phase of the project.

  • Single point contact for implementing and addressing any issues associated with the remanufacturing process. Promote, into the appropriate channel, any issues that require escalation and/or resolution.

  • Evaluate and provide input to supplier's project and implementation plan

  • Review staffing plans and ensure headcount is available to execute

  • Ensure production targets met

  • Ensure processes are established for replacement part procurement.

  • Investigate and implement additional salvage procedures that will save time, resources, and money

  • Evaluate supplier suggestions for continuous improvement.

  • Engaged technical experts when required for direction or feedback on process and/or part concerns.

  • Engagement in all parts of the value stream including receiving returned battery pack core, battery pack triage, remanufacturing of the packs, recycling of defective components and distribution of remanufactured packs.

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Experience in one of more of the following: Design, engineering, test/verification and execution of automotive components or systems

  • Technical decision making and project management.

  • Drive resolution to open issues.

  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders to drive project progress.

  • Manage 3rd party suppliers and partners to ensure deadlines are achieved and deliverables are provided in a consistent and timely manner.

  • High level of independent judgment and decision making

  • Drive multiple projects, in parallel, through on-time delivery with cross- functional team members.

  • Work closely with and support various teams inside and outside of GM globally: product engineering, manufacturing engineering, suppliers/vendors, supply chain, logistics, purchasing and strategy.

  • Exceptional presentation skills.

  • High level of capability to work independently

  • High level of analytical ability to solve problems that are unusual and complex

  • Clear and concise communication of project status. Ability to identify roadblocks and recommend solutions.

  • Efficiently communicate issues/decisions to CCA and GM leadership.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical degree/experience

  • What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Technical experience working on Ultium or a GM electric vehicle program.

  • Familiarity with High Voltage automotive systems.

  • Experience launching a product successfully in a manufacturing facility.

  • Master's degree (Technical or Business)
