Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on—site at one specific location to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM Facility or off—site as the work demands. This position will require travel (25-50%) to various US sites.

About CCA:

As a Customer Care Aftersales (CCA) Lead Ergonomist, you will be responsible for leading the implementation, continuous improvement, driving innovation for Ergonomics within the USA CCA sites, in an effort to reduce injuries. The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment will be critical to your success. You will be collaborating with other engineering disciplines, including LWO, operations team members, packaging engineering, as well as outside suppliers and UAW representatives. Attributes and skills needed to be successful in this position include, strong analytic and problem solving skills, growth mindset, strategic thinker, strong communication skills, high integrity and empathy.

The Role:

As a Customer Care Aftersales (CCA) Lead Ergonomist, you will be responsible for leading the coaching and implementation of the UAW—GM Ergonomic process, as well as driving innovation to better identify and resolve ergonomic risk of injury within the USA CCA sites. The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment will be critical to your success. You will have a high level of autonomy being supported by the Sr. Manager of Global Ergonomics, Director of Workplace Safety, and Global Aftersales Supply Chain, Warehousing, and Logistics Senior leaders. You will also be collaborating with other engineering disciplines, including Lean Warehousing Operations, operations team members, packaging engineering, as well as outside suppliers and UAW representatives.

What You'll Do:

You will be the single point of contact and lead for Ergonomics within the CCA organization. This is a technical position responsible for supporting US site teams with implementing the UAW-GM Ergonomic process. You will also be a strategic thinker and have strong communication skills to develop and drive the innovation and future strategy for Ergonomics within CCA.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Act as the subject matter expert in the field of ergonomics for all PC sites in Michigan and PDC sites outside of Michigan.

  • Ensure the Global Ergonomics requirements are implemented throughout CCA USA sites.

  • Conduct Ergonomic risk analysis of required tasks and establish threshold limit vales and level of risk. Work collaboratively with engineering disciplines, including LWO, operations team members, packaging engineering, outside suppliers, UAW representatives, etc. to ensure threshold limit values are met.

  • Manage ergonomic status across all USA sites, and provide guidance as needed.

  • Main point of contact and lead for all new product packaging and delivery

  • Responsible for data analysis and brainstorming/driving innovation and strategy to reduce ergonomic injuries at the various USA CCA sites.

  • Participate in the NA UAW-GM Ergonomic subcommittee to execute and continuously improve the Ergonomic program

  • Collaborate with UAW Joint H&S nationally appointed rep around CCA- specific initiatives

  • Drive innovation and exploration of new technology, analysis tools, devices which reduce musculoskeletal injuries.

  • Participate and lead as appropriate specific ergonomics initiatives/projects as needed.

  • Provide timely written reports and updates on specific ergonomics projects

  • Other contributions as required.

  • Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and/or sites

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with multiple customers at the same time

  • Ability to utilize resources to achieve improvements

  • Ability to travel outside of the local Warren, MI

  • What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Warehousing, logistics, manufacturing experience

  • Minimum 5 year experience with ergonomic analytical tools

  • Demonstrated ability to work with the UAW and other unions.

  • Knowledge of UAW-GM Workplace Safety Systems.
