They’re fast, they’re super-connected, and they make sure that Volocopter events are always top-notch! This CrewStory will present the Volocopter Live Communications Team.
How big is the team, where is it based and what are its duties?
The Live Communications team is an integral part of Marketing and Brand Communications. Live Comms plays a crucial role in bringing the Volocopter brand and its products to life in a haptic and emotive way. We are based at Volocopter’s headquarters in Bruchsal, Germany. From here, we manage and organize events around the world. The core team currently consists of three people: our team lead, our event manager, and an intern. Depending on the size of the event, we may be supported by our in-house graphic designers, copywriters, photographers, and a film crew.
We handle the strategic direction and content of an event, as well as the overall project management. We create project and budget plans, and define deadlines. We also organize capacities and are responsible for the overall coordination of our global logistics requirements. And last but not least, we design and implement trade fair booths and all accompanying materials.
Tell us about a typical day at work.
We always have several exciting projects on the go. Right now we’re preparing for this year’s VoloCity, VoloDrone, VoloConnect, VoloIQ, VoloPort events, and those for the Volocopter brand. So, we’re constantly in talks with other departments to get these off the ground. This allows us to work with a large group of internal and external stakeholders and sees us working on many fascinating topics. It’s a great advantage for us to know exactly what’s going on in the Volocopter universe. As you can see, working in Live Communications never gets boring and is super insightful!
When organizing projects like these we’re responsible for the project plan, team plan, budgeting, booth construction, logistics, marketing materials, briefings, and much more besides. Our organizational skills are second to none and our team is a well-oiled machine – essential skills in our day to day, which is as exciting as the projects themselves. And no two days are ever the same.
When we attend an event, time flies and we keep an eye on everything that’s happening around us.
